JON BARRETT

Chief Jon Barrett is a 30-year member of the Cicero Fire Department in Onondaga County, New York. He currently serves as 1st Assistant Chief and is a certified EMT-B, continuing his commitment to operational leadership and emergency medical response.

Throughout his three decades of service, Chief Barrett has held numerous leadership positions within both the Line Office and Executive Board. He previously served as Chief of Department and President, focusing on mentorship, organizational development, and strengthening the next generation of firefighters.

Chief Barrett remains actively involved in statewide fire service initiatives. He currently serves as President of Believe 31, President of the Northern Section Line Officers Association, Past President of the Onondaga County Fire Chiefs Association, and Chairman of the Training & Education Committee for the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY). In these roles, he plays a key role in advancing firefighter training, officer development, and educational programming across New York State.

In addition to his fire service career, Chief Barrett has 21 years of experience with the Onondaga County Department of Emergency Communications. As a Public Safety Dispatcher, he dispatches for Syracuse Police, Syracuse Fire, and Onondaga County Fire and EMS agencies, bringing a comprehensive understanding of emergency response operations from both the field and communications center perspectives.

Chief Barrett remains dedicated to leadership, education, and strengthening the volunteer fire service at the local, county, and state levels.

Tom Rothdiener

TRUSTEE OF THE FASNY FIREFIGHTERS HOME - 2026

Tom is a 48 Year Member of the Oriskany Independent Fire & Hose Company Inc., (Oriskany Fire Dept.), Oneida County, where he has held the position of Fire Chief for eight years and President for two years.   He has been an active member of the Oriskany Volunteer Exempt Firefighters Benevolent Association of Oriskany, Oneida County for over 47 years and has served as the association Secretary for 24 years.  He is the Secretary of the Oneida County Fire Advisory Board, Past President of the Oneida County Volunteer Firefighters Association, Past President of the Central New York Firefighters Association, Past Vice Chairman of the FASNY Fire Chiefs Committee, served on the FASNY Recruitment & Retention Committee and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the FASNY Two Percent Committee.  He is active as a pier reviewer for FEMA Fire Safety Grants for nine years and currently serves as a committee member of NFPA 1720/1750. 

Tom was elected as Trustee to the FASNY Firefighters Home in August 2021 and has made significant contributions for the betterment of the members of the Firefighters Home.  He looks forward to continuing as Trustee for his second five-year term in August 2026.

Tom is retired from the United States Air Force, where he serves as a Law Enforcement Supervisor and New York State Gaming Commission, as a Senior Gaming Inspector.  He is a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion and many veteran organizations.  He has been married for over 45 years to Linda, and they have two daughters, sons-in-law and seven grandchildren.
